Stephen Kitagawa has over 25 years of experience as an attorney representing a wide range of clients from individuals to multinational corporations in all stages of litigation through trial in both State and Federal courts. He is a senior attorney with the firm practicing Business, Construction and Real Estate Litigation. During his tenure at Ghassemian Law Group, Mr. Kitagawa has successfully resolved some of the largest litigation cases to the advantage of our clients.
Mr. Kitagawa has over 15 years of first chair trial experience and has prepared and argued appeals before State and Federal Courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit. He has trained attorneys and staff in litigation techniques, appeals, and various compliance related matters. His experience in real estate law has been instrumental in negotiating real estate issues with municipalities, representing clients in homeowners association cases, as well as representing construction companies in multi-million dollar public construction litigation.
He has also trained and counseled corporate clients in various compliance related matters including financial crimes, suspicious activity reports (SARS), and privacy laws (CCPA, CPRA, GDPR). Prior to joining the firm, for over three years, he immersed himself into developing and integrating privacy management compliance solutions for various clients. We believe this experience is essential to the performance of his duties in the firm. Along with technologists, data retrieval experts, and privacy compliance technology solutions, Mr. Kitagawa helped initiate and develop a consulting practice related to legal compliance under existing and upcoming privacy laws including 28 CFR Part 23, the GDPR, the CCPA, and CPRA.
Mr. Kitagawa is admitted to practice before all State and Federal Courts in the state of California and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit. Mr. Kitagawa is also a Cyber-leader with Secure the Village, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating, support, and advocate for cybersecurity and data privacy.
